"Chaoyi Cup" National Ladder Climbing Invitational Tournament sponsored
by Chongqing's Yunyang in the Three Gorges reservoir regions again set
off a craze of exercises in this new city of immigrants to create strong
festive atmosphere for the 56 anniversary of China's establishment on
Sept. 29. The "scaling ladder" of Yunyang, the new city of immigrants in
the Three Gorges, is known as "No.1 ladder of the 10,000-li (5,000km)
Yangtze River." It is composed of 1,448 stairs, 1,238 meters in length
and 25 meters in width.
