Chinanews, Oct. 11 - In the next two decades, China will become the
world's second largest economy in terms of gross domestic product, says a
report released recently by MasterCard International. The report also
points out that if China and India strengthen their business cooperation,
they will become super powers in the 21st century.
The report was completed by Wang Yuehun, chief economic consultant of
MasterCard International in Asia-Pacific region. Wang said in the report
that the potential of business cooperation between China and India will
become a new hotspot in global business prospect. Compared with the
competitive side of relation between these two economies, full
understanding of the potential of complementary effects in their
bilateral business cooperation weighs more.
Wang predicts that irrespective of free trade, China and India will take
up 15% of the world's GDP (China 11% and India 4%) by 2025, while the US
and Japan will constitute 24% and 10%, respectively. Taking free trade
into account, China and India will contribute 20% of the world's GDP by
2025, while the US and Japan will account for 22% and 6%, respectively.
Under such circumstance, new generation of Sino-India joint ventures will
be able to alter the competition structure of global business world. The
report says that China's strength lies in its unparalleled manufacturing
industry, which has earned China the title of "World Factory," while
India's strength lies in R&D and high-tech services.
