Performers from China Quanzhou Marionette Troupe were playing the newly
adapted traditional play "epic of Ruolan (a woman poet famous for her
Revolving Chart of poems)" lively and vividly with marionettes of 16
threads during the "China's achievement of intangible cultural heritage
protection exhibition" held in the National Museum of China in Beijing on
Feb. 15, winning applauses from the audience. The marionette show, also
called "puppet play", originated from the Qin and Han dynasties
(221BC-220AD) and has prevailed in Quanzhou area since the Jin Dynasty
(265-420AD) and Tang Dynasty (618-907AD).
